We're Hiring: Staff Software Engineer / Technical Lead

Compensation: $120k – $150k • No equity

About the Role We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Staff Software Engineer / Technical Lead who enjoys building great products, solving complex technical problems, and helping engineering teams succeed.

This isn't a role where you'll just review designs and attend meetings. You'll write production code, make important architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and take ownership of delivering reliable, scalable software.

We're looking for someone who can think strategically about architecture while staying close to the code.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable, production-ready applications.
• Build and maintain full-stack features, backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Make technical decisions around system design, scalability, performance, security, and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, design discussions, and mentoring.
• Improve engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, observability, and deployment automation.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to turn business needs into technical solutions.
• Identify technical risks, simplify complex systems, and drive improvements across the engineering team.
• Explore practical AI/LLM integrations and automation where they deliver meaningful business value.

What We're Looking For:

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership or Staff-level responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
• Experience with backend development using Python, Go, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, microservices, and API architecture.
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and production troubleshooting.
• Ability to explain architectural decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A proven track record of owning complex engineering projects from design through production.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience building AI-powered applications, LLM integrations, RAG systems, or AI agents.
• Experience with Kafka, event-driven architectures, or large-scale data pipelines.
• Experience working in early-stage startups or fast-moving product teams.
• Experience leading engineers across multiple projects or workstreams.
