Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Welder Fitter for our client in Corvallis, OR. The successful candidate will bring hands-on flux core welding and fitting skills and the ability to work from blueprints to a fabrication shop handling a variety of industrial construction and fabrication projects in mild and stainless steel.

Pay & Schedule

Pay: $20–$29/hr

Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Fit and fabricate mild steel and stainless steel assemblies from blueprints and prints.

• Weld using flux core dual shield and hardwire MIG on most projects, with stainless MIG and/or stick welding on others.

• Operate shop equipment to cut material to length and prep projects for fabrication.

• Work on a wide variety of industrial construction and fabrication projects.

Qualifications

• Must pass a weld test: 3G–5G vertical flux core on 1-inch mild steel plate.

• At least 1 year of welding experience, with excellent wire-feed MIG skills.

• Fit-up and fabrication skills, with the ability to read blueprints.

• Ability to read a tape measure and other layout tools proficiently.

• Forklift and overhead crane operation experience.

• Strong ability to self-manage and work independently.

• Must have the proper tools to complete jobs.

• Pre-employment drug screening required (THC not included).

Work Environment

This role is based in a fabrication shop, working on a variety of industrial construction and fabrication projects. Work involves welding and fitting steel, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, and exposure to noise, heat, sparks, and fumes. PPE is required.
