This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Manager, Revenue Accounting – Partnerships based in the United States.

As the Sr. Manager, Revenue Accounting – Partnerships, you will lead the accounting and operational lifecycle of complex commercial partnerships, from initial deal structuring and contract development to implementation and financial close. You will play a strategic role in ensuring that partnership arrangements are financially sound, compliant, and scalable. Working closely with Legal, Finance, Product, Partnerships, and Revenue Operations teams, you will translate commercial objectives into effective accounting policies, contract terms, and operational processes. You will provide senior leadership with guidance on revenue recognition, financial risks, and operational readiness while maintaining hands-on involvement in technical accounting and reporting. This highly visible position offers the opportunity to shape scalable frameworks, strengthen financial controls, and influence important business decisions. You will thrive in a fast-growing, collaborative environment that values ownership, innovation, and cross-functional leadership.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end partnership accounting lifecycle: Establish and manage a comprehensive framework for evaluating, structuring, approving, contracting, launching, operating, and closing commercial partnership arrangements.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment: Collaborate with Partnerships, Commercial, Product, Legal, Finance, and Revenue Operations teams to define requirements, establish processes, and develop scalable solutions for new go-to-market initiatives.
  • Establish governance and operational standards: Define approval requirements, stage gates, ownership models, and clear handoffs throughout the partnership lifecycle. Maintain visibility into upcoming launches, contractual obligations, revenue implications, and financial close requirements.
  • Advise on commercial contract structures: Partner with Legal and Partnerships teams to develop standardized contract terms, negotiation guidelines, approval thresholds, and playbooks for recurring partnership models.
  • Review commercial and accounting provisions: Assess contract terms related to pricing, discounts, fees, minimum commitments, incentives, services, usage, data, fulfillment, returns, termination, and settlement obligations.
  • Build scalable operational frameworks: Establish repeatable processes with Revenue Operations, Order-to-Cash, Product, and other stakeholders covering partner onboarding, order management, billing, invoicing, collections, cash application, settlements, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Strengthen systems and internal controls: Define operational requirements, data inputs, system workflows, reconciliation procedures, exception management, and reporting standards. Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve process efficiency and control quality.
  • Oversee technical revenue accounting assessments: Analyze complex partnership arrangements under ASC 606, including performance obligations, transaction pricing, variable consideration, principal-versus-agent considerations, contract modifications, and revenue recognition timing.
  • Drive accounting policy consistency: Partner with Technical Accounting and Revenue Accounting teams to prepare, review, and document accounting conclusions for new or non-standard commercial arrangements.
  • Own accounting execution and financial close: Oversee accounting setup and ongoing execution for assigned partnerships, including journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, supporting documentation, and month-end and quarter-end close activities.
  • Maintain audit readiness and compliance: Ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain appropriate documentation, and coordinate with external auditors and SOX stakeholders on inquiries, control evidence, and remediation activities.
  • Support financial planning and business decisions: Work closely with FP&A on deal approvals and collaborate with Revenue Operations on quote-to-cash processes, system requirements, data quality, reporting, and operational controls.
  • Lead stakeholder communication and decision-making: Facilitate cross-functional working sessions, communicate complex accounting considerations to technical and non-technical audiences, and drive important issues toward resolution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • CPA certification or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • At least 8 years of progressive professional experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, commercial finance, partnership finance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and demonstrated experience applying revenue recognition principles to complex or non-standard commercial arrangements.
  • Proven experience managing the full lifecycle of commercial partnerships, contracts, or complex commercial programs, from deal structuring and contract development through operational execution and financial close.
  • Ability to translate commercial objectives into practical contract provisions, accounting conclusions, system requirements, operational processes, and effective internal controls.
  • Hands-on experience preparing, reviewing, or overseeing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial close activities, and audit documentation.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes, including billing, collections, cash application, settlements, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with Legal, Partnerships, Product, FP&A, Revenue Operations, and senior business stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and leadership capabilities, with the ability to structure complex initiatives, coordinate multiple teams, and drive results without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical accounting concepts and operational requirements to executive leaders and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and a proactive approach to building standardized, scalable solutions.

Additional assets that will make you stand out:
