Description

Role focus:

This is an engineering project management role designed for professionals with a strong hardware foundation. The primary responsibility is to lead engineering development project execution, while applying hardware knowledge to improve technical judgment, risk assessment, and decision quality. It is not a hands-on circuit-design-only position.

About the role
Our Engineering Project Management team drives technical programs through the product development lifecycle. In this role, you will coordinate cross-discipline engineering teams and partners to deliver project milestones within defined scope, schedule, cost, quality, and business objectives.
You will combine project leadership with practical knowledge of hardware development across electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, device integration, materials, builds, testing, and issue resolution. This technical foundation will enable you to challenge assumptions, identify risks earlier, and facilitate accurate, fact-based decisions across engineering functions.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Hardware Engineer on our Client Solution Group (CSG) Engineering Service Team in Taipei, Taiwan.

What you will achieve

  • Lead technical projects or major project activities from initiation through delivery, with accountability for scope, schedule, cost, quality, risks, dependencies, and key deliverables.
  • Drive cross-functional execution across Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Device Engineering, Software, Validation, Operations, Supply Chain, ODMs, and suppliers.
  • Translate program objectives into clear plans, milestones, ownership, and decision points; conduct structured reviews and maintain rigorous progress tracking.
  • Use hardware engineering knowledge to assess issues, validate technical assumptions, and support timely trade-off decisions.
  • Coordinate engineering build strategies, material readiness, product configuration, and issue closure to achieve development and launch milestones.
  • Ensure project documentation, dashboards, decisions, actions, and change records are accurate, current, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage ambiguity and changing priorities, escalate issues with clear impact assessments, and provide concise recommendations to leadership.
  • Conduct periodic technical and program reviews, capture lessons learned, and drive improvements to project management methods, systems, and processes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, ODMs, suppliers, and senior management in a global working environment.

Essential qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in hardware product development, engineering program management, or cross-functional technical project execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects within scope, schedule, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to process incomplete information, apply engineering concepts, and make sound recommendations.
  • Ability to lead through influence, align cross-functional stakeholders, and drive actions to closure without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt and effectively utilize AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English, including communication with global teams, ODMs, suppliers, and leadership.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Preferred qualifications

  • 2-3+ years of formal project or program management experience in a product development organization.
  • Experience working with ODMs, suppliers, or global engineering teams in the PC, consumer electronics, or related hardware industry.
  • Exposure to one or more hardware domains such as system architecture, electrical design, mechanical design, device integration, thermal, power, display, battery, or system validation.
  • Experience with project management tools, issue-tracking systems, engineering change processes, product lifecycle management, or data-driven program dashboards.
  • Ability to identify process gaps and implement practical improvements that increase execution accuracy, predictability, and efficiency.
