Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director of Sales, Chiller Solutions based in the United States.

This senior leadership role will drive the growth and execution of a North American data center cooling solutions business, with responsibility spanning sales, engineering support, project management, and aftermarket operations. You will shape commercial strategies and strengthen relationships with hyperscale operators, colocation providers, cloud service providers, and other key industry stakeholders. Working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams, you will help expand market presence, achieve revenue and profitability goals, and support the delivery of complex, mission-critical projects. You will also influence product development by translating customer needs and emerging technologies into actionable market insights. This is a home-office-based opportunity requiring regular travel, ideally suited to a strategic leader who can build strong teams and deliver operational excellence in a rapidly evolving data center market.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of sales strategies, business plans, and growth initiatives for data center cooling solutions across North America.

  • Drive annual bookings, revenue, profitability, and market share objectives while improving sales effectiveness through strategic account planning, forecasting, pipeline management, and process optimization.

  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with hyperscale operators, colocation providers, cloud service providers, data center owners, consultants, contractors, and other industry stakeholders.

  • Direct major sales opportunities, negotiations, and strategic customer agreements, identifying new opportunities across hyperscale, enterprise, AI data centers, and high-density computing markets.

  • Lead customer-facing engineering and application support teams, ensuring technical alignment, successful project execution, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Oversee project management and aftermarket operations, including factory-to-job-site product delivery strategies, parts programs, and coordination with third-party technical support providers.

  • Collaborate with Product Management to shape product roadmaps, provide voice-of-customer insights, identify opportunities for innovation, and ensure solutions meet evolving data center standards.

  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies, including liquid cooling and advanced data center infrastructure requirements.

  • Represent the business at major industry conferences, trade shows, and professional associations to strengthen market presence and customer engagement.

  • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team while fostering collaboration, accountability, innovation, and succession planning across sales, engineering, product management, and operations.

  • Requirements:

    • 10–15 years of experience in HVAC, applied equipment, building systems, or a closely related industry.

    • 5–8 years of leadership experience, ideally managing regional or national sales teams and cross-functional organizations.

    • Bachelor's degree required; a degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. An MBA is considered an advantage.

    • Strong background in chiller systems and applied HVAC solutions, with a demonstrated record of commercial success.

    • Proven experience managing large customer accounts, developing executive-level relationships, and delivering business growth initiatives.

    • Direct experience in the data center industry, including selling to hyperscale customers and supporting mission-critical facilities.

    • Experience leading both sales and engineering functions, ideally in connection with large-scale infrastructure projects.

    • Solid understanding of data center infrastructure and emerging requirements in AI data centers, high-density computing, and liquid cooling.

    • Strong strategic planning, negotiation, forecasting, and business development capabilities.

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to align teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

    • Ability to work from a home office in the United States and travel regularly; proximity to a major hub airport is important. Candidates based near major data center markets such as Northern Virginia, Dallas, Phoenix, Atlanta, Chicago, or Silicon Valley are preferred.

    • Benefits:

      • Recruiting salary range of $200,000–$250,000 USD, with final compensation determined by factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, business needs, and geographic pay differentials.

      • No-cost employee medical, dental, vision, and prescription premiums for eligible employees and dependents.

      • 401(k) retirement savings plan with competitive company matching contributions, immediate vesting, and multiple investment options.

      • Generous paid time off, including company holidays and a combined sick and vacation time bank.

      • Performance-based short-term incentives, depending on role eligibility.

      • Confidential mental health resources and personal fitness goal incentives.

      • Paid parental leave and family support resources, including assistance for families raising children with learning, social, behavioral, or developmental challenges.

      • Group-rate life and disability insurance.

      • Home-office-based work arrangement with travel to support customer and business needs.
