Sales Development Representative (SDR) - UK Market
Description
Workplace & Hospitality Furniture Projects · UK-based, fully remote · Reports to Shari, Head of Revenue.
Read this first. This is not a SaaS SDR seat. No software demo, no free trial, no ARR. You’ll be talking to people who are moving office, opening a hotel or restaurant, or rethinking a floor – and getting them furnished properly, on time and on budget. If that sounds more interesting than selling another tool, keep reading.
About Enky
Enky is a furniture procurement and sourcing company for workplace and hospitality projects. We take a client from the first brief to the last chair in place: understanding the space and the brief, selecting from established commercial furniture brands, quoting, and managing delivery and installation. Clients can buy outright or rent (furniture-as-a-service), so they can furnish a space properly without a large upfront investment. We’re a team of ~40 people working across France, Belgium, the UK and the Netherlands. Alongside our core B2B business, we run Galerie Paradis, a vintage and design gallery, and Enky Invest, our participative financing arm.
🚀 The Role
Our UK sales team is closing: offices for scale-ups, new HQs, refurbishments, hospitality openings. What we need now is more of the right projects reaching them, earlier. That’s this job. You’ll find UK companies and venues that are about to need furniture – before they’ve gone to tender or picked a supplier – turn first touches from our outbound engine into real conversations by phone, understand the project, and hand our Account Executives a qualified, well-documented opportunity. Your day-to-day looks a lot like new business at a furniture dealer or a design & build firm. It’s the last UK hire for now, which means you’ll be a core part of a small team that knows exactly what it’s building.
🎯 What You’ll Do
Spot projects early. Track the signals that mean someone will need furniture: office moves and lease events, funding rounds and headcount growth, refurbishments, new hotel, restaurant and members’ club openings.
Pick up the phone – warm, not blind. 60+ dials a day, phone-first. Most of your calls won’t be truly cold: our outbound engine (lemlist sequences and AI tooling) has often already reached your prospects by email and LinkedIn, so you’re picking up a thread, not starting from zero. You’ll speak to office and workplace managers, facilities leads, founders, ops and finance directors, hospitality owners and GMs.
Work the partner channel. Build relationships with design & build and fit-out firms, architects and commercial agents who see projects before anyone else.
Run real project discovery. Headcount and desk count, square footage, move-in date, budget, buy vs. rent, decision-makers, and who else is in the room (architect, D&B firm, landlord).
Book 10–15 qualified project meetings a month for Jake and the UK Account Executives, with a brief they can walk into prepared.
Learn the product. Brands, lead times, workstations, soft seating, acoustic pods and phone booths, so you sound credible to someone who has furnished a floor before.
Keep our CRM (Odoo) clean and feed what you hear on calls back into our UK messaging and targeting.
Profile
What you bring
2+ years in a phone-first outbound role: SDR/BDR, appointment setter, lead generation, telesales, or new business at a furniture dealer, design & build firm or commercial furniture brand.
You genuinely like the phone. You dial relentlessly, keep a good tone when it’s not going your way, and turn “not now” into a next step.
Sharp questioning. Your discovery is precise, not vague – you know what you need to learn and you get it in one call.
Native or near-native English, UK-based, comfortable and credible with senior stakeholders and British business culture.
A real interest in spaces. You notice how an office, a hotel lobby or a restaurant is furnished, and you’d rather sell something people sit on than another subscription.
Organised, metrics-driven, self-starting. You build your own lists and don’t wait to be told who to call. Strong plus
Experience at an office furniture dealer, design & build or fit-out company, commercial furniture brand, workplace consultancy or commercial real estate.
Exposure to project-based sales, where timing, stakeholders and budget shift as the project moves.
What you don’t need
Furniture expertise. If you can open a conversation and ask the right questions, we’ll teach you the furniture. One of our UK team joined with zero furniture knowledge and has since closed £80k+.
A short process: three steps, feedback within 48 hours at each one.
1. Intro call with Fabien, Head of Talent Acquisition & People (30 min).
2. Project case + live call with the UK team. You’ll get a realistic brief (e.g. a 50-person company moving offices in three months), prepare your approach, and run the call with Jake or another member of our UK sales team.
3. Final conversation with Shari, Head of Revenue, on UK growth and where the role goes next.
