Sales Development Manager

Description

  • We’re hiring a Sales Development Manager to lead the team of SDRs generating pipeline for our North American sales org. You’ll own the day-to-day leadership of the team — coaching reps, aligning with AEs and sales leadership, holding a high bar on execution, hiring, and building the systems that make the team consistently productive
  • Our market is new and evolves by the day, and our buyers are hyper-technical. Prospecting at Baseten means earning credibility with that audience, and coaching a team to do it at scale.
  • The right person for this role is a coach and a builder — someone who gets energy from developing people, is obsessive about execution, and wants to define what world-class pipeline generation looks like when the product, the buyers, and the sales motion are all AI-native
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of SDRs responsible for opening doors with the next wave of Baseten customers
  • Own the team’s pipeline generation targets and drive consistent execution against weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals
  • Build and refine outbound strategies, messaging, and frameworks across a wide range of accounts, tuned to a technical audience
  • Run 1:1s, team meetings, training, and pipeline reviews that make reps measurably better week over week
  • Partner with AEs and sales managers on account strategy, lead quality, and handoff processes
  • Analyze pipeline data to identify what’s working, diagnose what’s not, and change it fast
  • Hire and onboard new SDRs as the team grows, raising the talent bar with each hire
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Recruiting
  • Build with AI — test new tools, automate repetitive work, and make your team faster and sharper than a team twice its size

Benefits

  • Remote-first work environment. The Baseten team is welcome to work from wherever they want; fully remote, in our San Francisco office, or a mix of both. Today, our team (including our founding team) is spread across the United States, Canada, and Armenia. We provide a $1,000 stipend for you to make your home-office comfortable and productive
  • Regular in-person team summits. We get together as a team three times a year to plan, workshop, and most importantly, get to know each other better
  • Unlimited PTO. We ask that everyone take at least 4 weeks of vacation. And we have a company-wide break between Christmas and New Year’s Day
  • Full healthcare coverage. Medical, dental and vision insurance for you and your family
  • Paid parental leave. 16-weeks fully paid parental leave (adoptive and non-birth parents included) and flexibility with schedules while returning to work
  • Company-sponsored 401(k) for you to contribute to
  • Learning and development budget. We encourage you to take classes, attend conferences, and invest in your craft and we’ll cover expenses to make it happen
  • Direct experience as an SDR and/or AE — you’ve done the job you’re coaching
  • A builder’s mentality. You own problems and their solutions, and you’re at your best in high-change, fast-moving environments
  • Comfort with data and systems. You can pull a report, spot a trend, and turn it into a coaching conversation or a process change
  • Hands-on with AI in your own workflow — you’ve built, adopted, or experimented your way to a faster prospecting motion, and you can show us
  • Technical aptitude and real curiosity about AI infrastructure. You should be able to hold your own in a conversation about inference and want to get deeper
  • Strong coaching instincts — you’d rather be in the trenches on calls and messaging with your reps than managing by dashboard
  • 1-2+ years managing an SDR or BDR team at an enterprise-focused tech company, and 4+ years in tech overall
  • A track record of top performance and progression in fast-paced, results-driven environments
