Description

GLOBAL PROCUREMENT AND ASSET MANAGER ROLE
Location: Bangalore
Experience:8 – 12 years

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Procurement Operations Manager is the operational backbone of the Sapiens procurement function. This role owns the day-to-day running of the buyer team — workload management, SLA compliance, process governance, and systems performance — ensuring that every purchase request moves through the right workflow, at pace, and to the right standard.
Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, you will manage a team of category buyers and a procurement analyst, serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues, and drive the team’s readiness for Dynamics 365 and AI-assisted automation. This is a high-ownership role for a senior procurement professional who thrives on structure, accountability, and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Management & Operations
  • Day-to-day management of all buyers and the procurement analyst: workload distribution, capacity planning, and SLA performance.
  • Buyer performance management, onboarding, and operational coaching across all spend categories.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for urgent purchase requests, vendor disputes, and operational exceptions.
  • Ensure adequate coverage across categories; manage interim capacity during open headcount periods.

Process Governance & Systems
  • Own PRS and ServiceNow workflow configuration: approval routing, queue management, and policy compliance.
  • Define and enforce one consistent procurement process across all buyers, categories, and workflows.
  • Maintain and improve standard operating procedures, escalation paths, and buyer playbooks.
  • Ensure team adherence to internal procurement policies and audit requirements.

Dynamics 365 & Automation Readiness
  • Lead the team’s operational readiness for the Dynamics 365 ERP migration — workflow mapping, category taxonomy alignment, and training.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities within buyer workflows, in collaboration with the Technology BP and Procurement Manager.
  • Champion AI-assisted tools and process improvements to increase team efficiency and data quality.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Finance on PO reconciliation, budget compliance, and month-end close support.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement Manager – Technology BP on technology buyer capacity, priorities, and workload alignment.
  • Support the Procurement Manager on team structure, hiring, and performance reviews.
  • Provide operational data, KPI dashboards, and savings tracking to support strategic reporting.

REQUIREMENTS
Must Have
  • 10+ years in procurement operations, purchasing, or supply chain management within a technology or enterprise software company.
  • Proven experience managing a buyer team: workload distribution, SLA ownership, and performance management.
  • Strong command of P2P systems — ServiceNow, SAP, or equivalent ERP/procurement platforms.
  • Process governance mindset: experience defining and enforcing procurement policies across a multi-buyer team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and operational escalations in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong communication skills; comfortable working across Finance, IT, R&D, and senior stakeholders.
  • Fluent English.

Preferred
  • Experience leading or contributing to an ERP migration (Dynamics 365, SAP S/4HANA, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with AI tools applied to procurement workflows (contract review, spend analytics, RFP drafting).
  • Exposure to Software Asset Management or technology procurement operations.
  • CIPS or equivalent procurement qualification.
